Move your code

When your early-access place opens, moving to Gitsink will take a few minutes, and nothing at your old host is changed or deleted.

From another git host

  1. Sign in to Gitsink with your Intersink account.
  2. Connect the host you use today, with your own sign-in there or an access token you create.
  3. Pick the repositories to bring, or bring them all.
  4. Gitsink copies each one with its full history, branches and tags, then checks that every commit matches.
  5. Point your team at the new address. Keep the old host as a mirror for as long as you like.

From your own server

Create an empty repository on Gitsink, then push a full mirror from wherever your code lives today. Every branch and tag comes with it.

git push --mirror https://gitsink.com/your-team/project.git

After the move

  • Same commands

Change the remote address once with git remote set-url and keep working as before.

  • Old host as a mirror

Gitsink can keep your previous host updated, so nothing breaks for anyone still using it.

  • Leave whenever you like

Git is portable. Clone or download everything from Gitsink at any time and take it anywhere.

Tell us what you’d bring.

In your early-access request, let us know where your code is today and roughly how much there is.
